Don't miss Dave Whitlock. He is alot of fun. About 10 years ago (or so) the
TU chapter in Ft. Collins, CO invited Dave Whitlock to one of their
banquets. He was scheduled to do a tying demo in a hotel conference room, a
casting demo outside and then speak at the banquet later that night. The
weather was crummy and they didn't do a very good job of publicizing the
whole thing so I ended up being the only person to show during the
afternoon! There were two or three folks that had organized the whole
affair and me, that's it! So I got to spend the afternoon tying with Dave
Whitlock while the "organizers" pointed fingers and made frantic phone
calls. I learned fly fishing while chasing Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass in
the Midwest, so it was a pretty exciting afternoon for me. He just said
"what do you want to tie?" I kept him busy all afternoon! We skipped the
casting, since the weather was so bad. I still have a frog that he tied.
Someday I'll make a nice display for it.
