Hi,
I would recommend looking into Packlite, http://packliteoutdoorgear.com/ He
used to be based in Darrington, WA. It appears from the web page that he
has moved his operation to Illinois. The bride and I both have a High
Country from Packlite, 5300 ci and you can add onto it if you wish, all for
$119. It has ski sleeves which could be used for carrying a rod or he
offers to customize any of the packs.
They are the most comfortable packs I have ever used. All the usual
disclaimers, I am just a very satisfied customer. Plus I like giving my
business to the little guy as much as I can.

Since everyone is talking about hiking into lakes recently I figured I
would ask about what packs you use. I saw somewhere recently a pack that
had came with rod tubes and a dry storage area but have not been able to
find it. I am curious about what you guys use to pack in your rods,
float tubes, tent, etc. Basic frame packs or are there some specific
packs built for flyfishing out there.
Any suggestions are appreciated as usual.
