Funny...
I actually use the reports as places to avoid... as in the Yak Canyon.
When the weather is great, and the steelhead are moving in, and on monday I DONT hear about the Sky... Guess where Im heading next weekend...
 
Sometimes no report is the best indicator.  Sometimes bad reports are also good indicators:
 
Heres how I generally interpret reports:
 
"Caught a few" - Got skunked
"Did Great!" - Caught a few
"Most on Dries" - One on dry
"Was in the upper <insert river name here>" - Stay outta my spot in the lower <Insert river name here>
"Saw the <insert river name here> on the way to work and it looked blown." - Im fishing the <insert river name here> after work.
 
Size chart:
"6-8"  -  Dinks
"10-12" - 6-8
"13-14" - strong 10"
"15-17" - 13-14
"20+" - Biggest fish of the day, can range from 10" - 14"
