Since the subject has come up, I'll put in my 2 cents worth.

When I first joint this group - way back when - it was limited to Northwest
(mostly Washington) flyfishers and wasn't very big. The premise seemed to
be sharing among ourselves without inviting hordes to our favorite spots. I
enjoyed participating.

This year someone got the bright idea ( frankly, I couldn't tell you who it
was ) to make all the information we had posted public domain by using them
as a searchable data base on the group's website. This is the first post I
have made since. It bothered me so much to find my email posts suddenly
available to anybody and everybody in the entire world when they were not
submitted for that purpose, I have since been unable to bring myself to post
more information.

Like I said - just my 2 cents.

It isn't so much a question of trust as just not wanting to see all
my fishing buddies at my favorite spot at the same time. Come to
think of it, I've never run across any of my buddies at my favorite
spots. It's always someone else that's there catching MY fish ;-)
