C'mon Willy, you seem to get your share of weekday
fishing in disguised as 'taking out clients'!

The secrets ain't to hard. I am a
federal employee and monday was a holiday. For my salt water fishing I
use an eagle claw 8 wt rod with no name reel that I bought on E-bay for
39.99. I have 9 wt floating line that I got a K-mart for 9.99 and I tie
my own flies so the expensive part is the hook. In addition Chico creek
is about 8 miles away from my house and I can take the long way home from work
and go right by the creek.
On the weekdays that aren't holidays I go
to work early and get off anywhere from noon to 3. A quick call home to
tell mama I'm going fishin' and I'm covered until dark.

The flyfishing tip I really want to know is... how do you arrange
your life to consistently flyfish on weekdays!! As I am reading your
post, it is 9:30PM and I am still slaving away in my office. Maybe some of
the other list members would care to share the financial or life secrets to
independence and freedom to fish at
will!
Fished Chico creek yet again today
(Mon). Started at 7 and had the whole place to myself. When
fish started to show (about 8) one other flyfisher was there. He and
I tried for about an hout to no avail. During this time about 10
more fishers showed up. About 930 the chums started to show up
thick. Unfortunately I snagged my first fish in the tail. He
was about 12 pounds and took me about 10 minutes to land. He took me
all the way to the backing, boy was I glad there were very few people
there as no one had to get out of my way.
I fished to about noon and caught 2
more fish all big. When I left there was only about 40 fishers and
just starting to get crazy. I had to snap 1 fish off due to a fellow
fisher not wanting to stop fishing while I played my fish. Next time
I think I'll let him get tangled and take a swim, maybe he will learn some
decency.
I saw about 500 fish go up the
creek
