The ink in some kinds of porous-tip pens isn't absorbed by some 
smooth or waxy surfaces, allowing it to smear or wash off later. You 
might try using a Sanford Sharpie permanent marker instead. The twin 
tip version has both fine and ultra-fine tips. You can fine 'em at 
office supply stores like Office Depot or Staples but they only come 
in black and a couple other primary colors.
