Title: RE: Cardiac Canyon Pontoon Boat
Arrgh!  Richard, you caught me.  Yes, I must be a secret Abel operative,
since I am indeed quoted in the 2003 Abel catalog, something to the effect
that the ATC is the best all around flyfishing boat or whatnot.  Actually,
it's a quote - more or less accurate, but I won't split hairs - of an
unsolicited comment I made last year to someone at Abel (I was calling to
arrange replacement of the seat back cushion that had sprung a leak).  In
fact, I was never contacted by Abel prior to or after the catalog came out.
To tell the truth, I was more than a little miffed that they felt free to
quote me without asking my permission or even informing me that they
intended to do so.  Not sure what the industry standard is for this kind of
thing, but it seems at least a little impolite to quote a person without so
much as a heads up.  Certainly and absolutely can affirm I was never offered
any sort of gift or compensation for the 'endorsement' nor have I ever
received any.

What?! No promotional fee, free gear to 'field test', or even an honorary appointment to Abel's advisory panel?

Wes, you need a better agent. Or perhaps a lawyer. You could threaten to sue for unauthorized promotional attribution and THEN get some free gear as a settlement ;-)
