My favorite sea run fly is also the Jim Dandy AKA the Snot Dart. Jim Kerr designed this fly in the standard orange, but red and chartreuse work also. Jim has a friend who only fishes it in red and does quite well. I tie it on a standard #6 2xl bronze hook, as with all of my salt patterns.
My next fly is a sculpin pattern tied with a black conehead, grizzly rabbit strip tail and overbody, copper cactus chenille under body, several turns of brown hackle collar and a copper-brown dubbing ball behind the conehead. Darin
