Thank you Andrew, you're a marvel.
I trashed the contents of the Servers folder (and also trashed
preferences, AppleShare Prep etc...in 9.2.2) and restarted. No silent
pauses.
Now only if I knew how to do AppleScripts I'd take Matthew Healey's
advice and write such a script as he suggests. (Out with the
manual???)
