A 15" flat panel iMac Panther 10.3.8 was closed down normally and on
boot up the next morning the desk top had changed back to the default
settings i.e. Dock had moved from the side to the bottom and changed to
full size, Icons in the side bar had all changed to plain folders, desk
top picture had disappeared and the Address Book and Mail account had
all zeroed -- no addresses, messages or mail boxes. All other data and
software was still intact.
DiskWorrier restored all icons except for Home and did nothing for the
Mail situation. Is there any particular explanation for this
happening?
I reinstated the mail account OK, and I can see the mail boxes in the
Home Library but have been unable to recover them using Mailbox
Rebuild, I presume the messages are still in them nor can I recover the
addresses.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
