I just purchased the Panasonic GS250. I did a lot of research and was
in the same prcie range as you. It came out the very good value in
most reviews.
I had previously used a Sony which I liked, they are more expensive
but solid. The panasonic feels plastic-y but it was easier to use
than the Sony and the image is very good. It also allows firewire
download.
I purchased it from an online retailer, Discount Digital
Photographics: www.d-d-photographics.com.au
Definitely the cheapest ($1399) but their manner and customer service
is terrible. Personally, I wouldn't buy there again. I was also going
overseas so I got my GST back at the airport.
Good luck and Best wishes

Hi WAMUGers
I think i have to purchase a Digital Video camera for school before
the end of
the year.
I have around $1300 to spend.
I have been happy with the Sony that we have had for a few years.
Canon seem very good.
The Panosonic 3CCD range sound good. Especially for indoor shooting.
Any advice would be appreciated please.
Do I still have to ensure they have firewire, dv in/out?
or is USB 2 now fastt enough?
