Hello fellow WAMUGGERS,
How the heck do you stop Image and PDF attachments embedding in the
email itself ?
It does not seem to happen with Excel files.
I have gone through Mail Preferences several times but cannot find
any way of switching this off.
I have friends who are not happy about receiving attachments that
are not attached.
Hello Stephen,
Are you attaching a file using the Attach button on the toolbar or by
choosing File > Attach File (Command-Shift-A), and selecting the 'Send
Windows Friendly Attachments' ?
Mail offers no convenient way to toggle Windows friendliness for
attachments added by drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste.
Do you have the correct file extension e.g.. .pdf & .jpg?
To be certain that a graphic does not appear inline, you must compress
the file before attaching it.
Under Tiger, the easiest way to compress a file (in Windows-friendly
Zip format) is to select the file in the Finder and choose File >
Create Archive of filename.
Under Leopard, in Finder choose File > Compress.
Also add your attachments at the 'end' of your email, even after a
signature if you use one.
Cheers,
Ronni
