Don't know Ronni. I just see it from my side where all attachments on
incoming and outgoing emails now sit as icons neatly at the bottom of
the msg. I got fed up with them opening up all the time even when I
didn't want to see them.
I assumed recipients were getting the same as I am seeing, but I'm
not sure, as they all have different programmes

Hi Allen,
In Mail Application when composing a message, if you do not wish to
see the full graphic,
you can Control-click (or right-click) it and choose 'Show as Icon'
from the contextual menu.
But this affects only your view, not the way it appears to the
recipient.
To be certain that a graphic does not appear inline, you must
compress the file before attaching it.
How does the mail plugin 'Mail Attachments Iconizer' control how
the Recipient's email application is setup to view the attachment?
Cheers,
Ronni

I use a mail plug in called Mail Attachments Iconizer from http://
lokiware.info/ for this problem.
Costs about A$8 and works well for me.

Hello fellow WAMUGGERS,
How the heck do you stop Image and PDF attachments embedding in
the email itself ?
It does not seem to happen with Excel files.
I have gone through Mail Preferences several times but cannot
find any way of switching this off.
I have friends who are not happy about receiving attachments that
are not attached.
Any suggestions (other than using another application)?
