Ronni Thank you for your instructions on removing Growl.
Like Alan, I also was puzzled as to where this had come from, and why it kept appearing on my desktop "A newer version of Growl is Available. Click to Install". I could not establish what it was for. You would not believe it - I thought - okay, Leopard, Growl, must be connected!!!! So I had clicked yes to download. Following your instructions I have now manually removed this.
