Hi Alastair, Sounds like you might have migrated an old iTunes Library file across. Was the old Mac iTunes the same version as iTunes on the new Mac? Did you open iTunes on the new Mac before you connected the external Drive and had it mounted? Your external HD needs to be mounted before launching iTunes or iTunes will create a new blank library on your startup drive. i.e You need to have the external drive up and running prior to launching iTunes. If your iTunes library files (the entire \iTunes\ folder) is on the External Drive. 1.Hold Down The Option Key as you start iTunes 2. Select Choose Library & select the iTunes Library file in the iTunes folder on the External Drive.
