Hi Tim,

My iTunes copy also developed that very same problem where on startup it keeps
asking for permission to connect to the internet. In my case the problem was
that my copy of iTunes was no longer signed and thus the fire-wall continually
sought my permission to allow it to connect to the internet. Various utilities
can cause this problem by deleting a file from a signed bundle and thus
invalidating the signature -- e.g. a application that saves disk space by
removing PPC executables from universal binaries.

The fix for me was simple enough I deleted my copy of iTunes from the
Application folder, downloaded a new copy from the Apple site and reinstalled
it.

All my iTunes preferences and settings were preserved.

Hope this works for you too,
Carlo
