Hi Stephen Essentially yes, this is all you need to do
It would be best if, once you have got your iPhone 4 working, then plug in your iPhone 3 into iTunes and at the main screen, trigger a Restore. This removes your name and all your details, and contacts, music everything, from your iPhone 3. When your daughter puts her SIM card in, she can name it and set it up like a new phone.
