Hi Alan,

Good to hear you are all set-up and working now.

Just one thing to remember if you are thinking of deleting the ³spare² Apple
ID.

If you have ever ³purchased² anything through iTunes music, TV, iPhone
apps (including free music and apps) they will be associated with the Apple
ID you were signed-in by when you purchased/downloaded them. If that was the
³spare² ID and you then delete it - you will probably get messages saying
you are not authorised to play/use them.

I got caught out with a similar thing recently (not a deleted ID, in my
case, but an unauthorised laptop):

New iphone, lots of apps downloaded through my desktop iMac. Go on a field
trip to Dryandra, where mobile coverage is marginal (climb to the top of the
hill for reception). Taking photos with phone so take my laptop to back up
photos. I never use the laptop for iTunes purchases and didn¹t have any
³purchased² music/video on it, so I had never ³authorised it² - however this
never even occurred to me.

So, I take some photos and connect the phone to the laptop to backup the
photos. iTunes fires up and tells me the computer is not authorised for the
apps on the iPhone. I cannot authorise the computer I can put in the
account ID and password but it needs to connect to the net to verify and
there is nowhere to connect to the internet for miles around!! So iTunes
proceeds to delete the ³unauthorised² apps from my iPhone (even though they
were all free apps anyway!!)

It was particularly annoying as a couple were photography apps that I was
wanting to try out.

Of course, once I got back home I could re-synch the apps from my iMac,
connect to the net and authorise the laptop (for future use) and everything
was OK again.

However for the whole trip my iPhone was stripped of all apps except the
pre-loaded ones.

Of course, my problem was not like your situation however, it serves as a
reminder that even free ³purchases² are associated with your Apple
ID/account and so, if you have more than one ID/account then you need to
keep track of what is associated with each account.

Cheers

Neil
