I have an iPad 1 with WiFi only. To overcome the lack of a proper GPS - ie one that reads data from satellites when away from any wifi and 3G cell towers, I purchased a Bad Elf GPS unit that plugs into my iPad 1. This works well for away from civilisation navigation. Of course, I cannot rely on web based mapping services and the iPad holds a vast array of digital maps onboard.
I understood only the 3G iPads, not the WiFi only, had a proper read the satellites GPS. This was certainly the case with my iPad 1. Tim On 09/03/2012, at 12:30 PM, cm wrote: > Yes quite right.
