Hi Pat, After you moved the .plist file to the Trash. Make sure you quit ALL applications before emptying the Trash, so that the .plist file can properly be deleted. If it doesn't work right away, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Don't move the com.apple.launchservices.secure.plist If you still have the problem the Terminal command is: Open up Terminal and enter the following two commands, each followed by the Enter key. NOTE: the spaces in he first command (copy & paste might be best) These commands will rebuild the LaunchServices file and will refresh the Finder so that the changes take effect. You might have to wait a minute or two for the first command before killing the Finder, as the database needs time to restructure itself. /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user killall Finder If you still have the issue, it might not be Launch Services causing the problem, but something else?
