Hi Peter,

If you take the necessary precautions - Repairing Permissions - Repair Drive -
and BACKUP - Turn Time Machine OFF - disconnect all devices from your Mac etc -
before installing the Combo 10.10.2 over top of your installation you should be
fine.

The Combo updates <Apple Downloads> contain all incremental updates and will
update files that could have become corrupted.
Combo updaters will install on the same version as they're applying--no need to
roll back or do a clean install.
So if you think you've got a bad 10.10.2 install from a regular update, just
run the 10.10.2 Combo Updater on that system.
