Hello Graham,

Is ‘Text Replacement’ not working in certain apps or not working in any app?
Do you have ‘Text Replacement’ enabled in Apps?

Open the app and from the menubar, select “Edit” and go to “Substitutions” 
menu. 
From here, enable the “Text Replacement” option.
