Dear WAMUG’ers, The Ethernet port of my iMac 21.5”, Mid 2014 , 1.4GHz Intel Core i5 and 9GB 1600 MHz DDR3 seems to have gone South. The iMac is running High Sierra 10.13.6.
I have checked Network Utility which indicates that the Ethernet is ‘Not Connected’ and have done the usual checks of swapping cables, using a brand new one, swapping the port on my modem/router, reset the NVRAM. All to no avail. Does this mean the iMac needs to go to the hospital and see a specialist? And which hospital is the recommended one? Can the Ethernet port be replace or is this hard-wired to the mother board? Please note that the Wi-Fi works and I can keep working on the iMac, but knowing something is not right is the proverbial thorn in my foot and I need to have it fixed. Any advice you can give me will be gratefully accepted and tried.
