Hi Philippe If no success with the SMC reset, then yes it could be a hardware problem with the Ethernet port. Realistically as it’s on the mother board you wouldn’t want to repair it I’m afraid, as the board is very expensive. You better option would be a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter if you still needed Ethernet, as it would be way cheaper! MacWorx Joondalup are still great for hardware checks/repairs. And they’d have the adapter in stock should you decide to use that option.
