Hi Pete,

Yes, I backup both our laptop and a secondary iMac to the same NAS.

I don't remember the details of how I set it all up but I currently have the
2-disc NAS set-up as just 2 separate hard drives (ie SPAN not RAID) and:

On HD 1 I have:
Separate user folders for myself & Georgie
A shared folder open to both of us
A media folder to use as an iTunes server (not currently used)
HD 2 is enabled for TM backup and the two computers create their own TM
sparsebundle backups on this drive

That is the general setup and it all seems to work fine - so consequently,
having not had to sort anything out, I don't actually remember much about the
details!

Obviously this does not give me the same redundancy as using a RAID setup
however I also have clones and sync to the cloud as other levels of
backup/redundancy.

HTH

Cheers

Neil

I presume it’s possible to set up the NAS as a TM machine for multiple
computers? I expect it’s simply a matter of simply setting up separate share
for each computer, but it’s not clear from the links you’ve given. Their
documentation is a little sparse on this subject.
