Hi Jewels. My step-daughter and my grand kids were all with Westnet (owned by TPG/iiNet).
So they had the same issue. I helped them (and other family members) to switch to an iCloud email address. This sounds strange, but the same thing was suggested to me by a Telstra technician a few years ago. He visited my home to resolve an unrelated issue with my Bigpond email. He suggested I move to a generic email address, such as Gmail or iCloud. This meant that if I moved to another provider my email would not change. He suggested I set up an iCloud address and gradually inform my providers, friends and family. Then if I changed providers my email remains the same. It made sense to me, as an Apple user, to set up an iCloud email account. So that is what I did … and over time my contacts were informed of this. So as you see I have an @mac.com email address. The options with Apple are @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com. My Bigpond address is occasionally used by those I have not notified.
