Hi Julie Can relate, as have a lot of clients have no end of issue with TMC. (The Messaging Company) However, you can’t take that email address with you - as they (TMC) “own it”. So if you go somewhere else, you will lose that email address and have to get a new one. You can’t take the @iinet address with you. So if you need to keep the same address, your only choice is to stay with TMC unfortunately. It’s not like having a domain address (ie like my email) that you can take that with you anywhere.
Some clients have just gone with “free” email addresses (eg @outlook.com or @gmail.com or @iCloud.com), other clients I’ve set new hosting for them through my hosting business, so they have their own domain and email addresses that they can keep for long as they like. (Obviously costs, as it gets renewed each year). But it gives them their own domain name, and different email addresses that they want. What some clients did was set up their new email address (either free or hosted), then over a year they worked through to migrate people over to it. Once 99% of their email was on their new email address and they were confident with it, then they could then choose to close off the TMC email address. One of the advantages of owning a domain is I’m in control of it for as long as I want to keep it. (Though obviously pay for it of course). So unfortunately they are you only choices. But to keep it (as they own the @iinet address) your only choice is to stay with them. If spinning wheel logging into webmail then that could be other issues possibly as well. Though, they sometimes can be a bit slow to get into webmail, but overall when I’ve logged in for clients it generally hasn’t been too bad.
