Hi Stephen, Just to clarify one thing in your post (which I agree with the rest,..hehe),..but you can’t actually get a @Mac.com or @me.com address anymore. You can only get an @iCloud.com address. For those of us lucky enough to get it originally - we can have all three. Like you I signed up originally with it (when it first got announced as iTools) and we could get it as @Mac.com Then Apple “rebranded” it as @me.com. Then “rebranded” it again as iCloud and turned it into @iCloud.com address. So if you were an original @Mac you automatically got @me and now @iCloud - so you have all 3. (This when they first announced it as part of iTools). But if you only signed up when it was @me.com you now can use both @me.com and @iCloud.com but generally not the @Mac.com. (this was when they “renamed it” as part of MobileMe). If you only sign up now, you get an @iCloud.com address. And though “technically” you’re meant to be able to use the previous ones - it doesn’t always work. As Apple try use everything through @iCloud.com now. (And this is their “new” iCloud stuff that’s been around a while).
And if you have aliases that were originally from @Mac.com or @me.com and you delete them - you can’t add them back in. So generally now it’s only @iCloud.com that people can choose from for the “free’ email address. That list a bit of info about it here as well - https://support.apple.com/en-au/118230 I was lucky enough to sit up (as I normally do) when it was first announced and grabbed 3 of the @Mac.com addresses that I wanted! Hehe. You had to be really quick on the night to grab them,…lol. I even know get people with a variation of one of my @Mac.com addresses that wanted me to give it to them as want it. Hehe. And I know a friend of mine also grabbed a @Mac.com he wanted, as did Ronni for her @Mac.com at the time. But after a day or so, a lot of them were “gone” hehe. But yes, (unfortunately) now,..people aren’t able to get the @Mac or @me ones,…only the @iCloud :) Just for a bit of clarity,…and a walk down memory lane,…hehe. :) Kind regards Daniel Sent from my iPhone 16 Pro --- Daniel Kerr MacWizardry p : 0414 795 960 e : <daniel AT macwizardry.com.au> w : <http://www.macwizardry.com.au> **For everything Apple** NOTE: Any information provided in this email may be my personal opinion and as such should be taken accordingly, and may not be the views of MacWizardry.
