Well if you think Mayberry is the county seat of the county it resides in and
that Andy is the county sheriff, answer me this: Where is the county
courthouse and why did Andy have to answer to the Mayor of Mayberry and why
would the county sheriff be the Justice of Peace for the city of Mayberry?
The Mayor of Mayberry would not hold any sway over the county sheriff. Every
county I have ever been to has a county courthouse located at the county seat
where the county judges conduct trials, not the justice of the peace. I
believe the answer is that it was never established where the county seat was
located.
