While it is not a common breakfast meal here in the U.S., my British son-in-law of 14 years, tells me kippers (herring) and eggs is a classic English breakfast. I Googled “kippers and eggs” and he’s right as rain. Herring is, of course, an ocean fish-----and probably would not have been the kind Andy would have prepared for breakfast.
