I can think of a few myself, but I'll just two at this time. In the episode
when the lawyer came to town and was Andy's deputy for a while he came up with
a statistical chart about crimes that could happen in Mayberry. He brought up
wife beating. The phone rang and someone reported that a man had given his
wife a beating. This evoked a laugh. The other one is when Ellie was running
for city council and the women picketed in front of the courthouse. Andy told
them to go home and rest. The other thing in this episode was the fact that
the men controlled the money in the marriage. I was watching an episode of
Gunsmoke and it was about a stagecoach carrying money was coming to town. The
bad guy was hypnotizing Festus, who I think was a deputy, to find out when it
was coming. This put me in mind of the armored car episode on TAGS.
