In another bit of political incorrectness, one that even the producers of TAGS recognized in the 60's, was making fun of alcoholics. Otis was really funny for the first 6 years of the show, but then at the tail end of the 60's, people began to look at drunks differently, and all of a sudden it was politically incorrect to make fun of them. The producers voluntary phased Otis out by the middle of the 7th season. Now a days no one is allowed to make fun of a person's alcoholism.
