Deb, if you want to just have a look at how the page will appear, just use a browser on your local machine. For html with css it works well enough. Databases and server side includes would be a problem. Or use something like Crimson Editor or Arachnophilia which will link to your browser of choice and both are free. This way the ftp is the very last check for the errors that one looks at and still misses. Which is pretty much what Tim or was it Tom suggested the other day.
