I'll second this. If you receive a manageable amount of email, then
mailwasher's free solution is quite handy. 

However, if you receive over 200 emails a day (or in thousands) then it gets
very tiring. Also, I did not quite enjoy having two programs for checking
email (Mailwasher runs separate from your email client). Finally, I'd be
careful using its bounce feature. While it uses an algorithm to determine
the best route to send the bounced message back (from, reply to, return
path) and 
actually sends the bounce back via your isp's postmaster, this can help the
spammer confirm that your email address exists based on your ISP -- it is
fairly easy to identify mailwasher's bounce from an ordinary bounce.
