2. Elance.com has kept me alive. I get TONS of cheapskates and have to deal with low-ball bidders but I have also found a few ongoing/long-term clients that have basically been supporting my business. The ROI is outstanding with them and I highly recommend their services.
We've outsourced a few projects through eLance. But we haven't bid on any yet. Mostly because I feel like their pricing is too high. But I'm sure that if we actually did it, it would be well worth it.
The primary problem with eLance is the whole getting something for nothing philosophy. Someone is always going to underbid you and the quality of their work is going to be much inferior to yours, but the client only cares about the bottom line during the bidding process.
If you're just starting out, I would highly recommend you take a look at eLance and give it a try. It's a great source for steady work.
