Michael, I moved the <body> tag and it moved itself back!! I am using a pen now instead of a mouse, so it must have been a slip of the pen ;-).
I understand your post-sports-fest ennui and am grateful that you took the trouble to look, especially as your comments are helpful. The CSS will become an external file and I am rather keen to have a wide range of type styles for different situations. I think I understand the pinciple of your suggestion about sizes, but I need to read up and think about that. I know browser support can be very variable. Initially I may live with that in order to get the whole thing up and running and sort out the other needs later as part of an evaluation of the impact of the new site section.
