Hi Deb-

Well, as I am not getting much response from those who do belong (although it is the weekend and perhaps responses will pick up), maybe you could tell me why you would like to join a group. What activities would draw you? What benefits would you expect from such a group?

One of our concerns is that as so much information is online, is there anything a local, face-to-face group could offer that would be compelling and different from what could be done online.

Comments that keep coming up in our group are that techies tend to be loners and not joiners. I know lots of techies who break this generalization, but are we going against the flow here? Our group includes, webmasters, programmers, graphic artists, hobbyists, writers, etc. so we have a wide range of interests and skills. This is good and bad One of the negatives is it is hard to have events that have broad appeal.

What do you think?

Thanks
Janet

I'm not a member of a group, but I would like to be.
