If you've got two Hard disks on seperate IDE channels (hd1 and hd2), if
Windows is on HD1, put the pagefile on HD2 and vice-versa.

Alternatively, install linux (I recommend Mandrake/Mandriva for linux
newbies (available on the front of this month's Linux format here in the
UK)), open-office (now fully compatable with MS products) and
Firefox/Thunderbird for internet access and email. A system like this
is easy to install, (mandriva will probably install all of this software
for you!), will reduce the chances of viruses attacking your system
(there's no real threat under linux!) and will automatically prevent
spyware, pop-ups and most other nastys that affect MS only systems.

If you don't want to install linux, but are interested in playing with
it, check out ubuntu or knoppix, both of which will run from the CD.

All of this software is free (legally, not "free" from a mate at the
market!), most of it is developed by or includes code from renowned
commercial companies and is stable.

My .02,

Matt
