My only experience with ME was booting it once when it came preinstalled on
a computer so I could pull off drivers and information about the hardware so
I could go get Windows 2000 drivers for it before using fdisk on it. 

>From what little I followed this is just about as likely to be a hardware
problem as it is a software one.
