MOU, ASP.NET uses code behind unlike scripting languages such as PHP, vbscript, etc. Using code behind complies the function and makes everything run faster on your web page and you would lose that benefit if you use it as you would an older style scripting language. Viusal InterDev was crap as a web coding editor. Visual Studio prior to 2005 was not much better (though an excellent editor for a Windows programmer which was what Visual Studio was supposed to do)
Primary benefits to using a dedicated IDE as far as I'm concerned is Intellisense which eliminates or at least minimizes typos. Cheryl D Wise MS MVP FrontPage http://by-expression.com Online instructor led training http://starttoweb.com -----Original Message----- From: Ross Clutterbuck I personally hand-code everything so I've never used Visual InterDev or anything like that. Now granted I've not jumped into ASP.NET so I'm not sure how viable it'll be to hand-code but I've always said learning the language before you use an IDE will benefit you more. ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: [email protected] To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
