These are some rem,arks from someone who does not know how *not*
to be contentious - however he is often right! any comments on
these opinions? [take the Windows bit as read ;-)]
"Why do I run a Mac? Because it combines the best of Unix/Linux
security and functionality with hardware and multimedia (mpg,
swf, ppt, pdf, etc.) With the Mac everything works out of the
box. With Linux almost everything works out of the box, except
the one, two or
three things you really NEED to work, and with that you have to
have root canal before it DOES work (but it will eventually if
you fight with it long enough!)
"It is nice to have a common platform that other share. Your BMW
is just like the other guy's BMW so it is easy to get help. With
Linux, there are a million varieties and everyone has different
hardware. You have two Linux users and three opinions!
"With the Mac I get to ask ..." (and any other user has the same
answer).
