| ECONOMIST PREDICTS Y2K PROBLEM WILL CAUSE RECESSION
*shudder* Don't know about you, but I am not quite sure that many companies
are going to be able to fix this problem by the deadline...
I was wondering, if there was a Y2K survival guide... what would be in it?
What would be the worst case scenario?
Should you start investing in hard currency, such as gems and jewelry?
Stock up on canned goods? Keep paper currency inside a mattress?... then
again, a -recession- isn't as bad as a -Depression-.
I know that in December of 1999 I will be taking a little holiday from
computers. Make sure I am sitting home with the family, watching the ball
drop on T.V.
Funny how since in the past couple of decades, more and more things rely on
computers, as if they were a panacea for the worlds ills... from chips in
cars, to ATMs.
Heh! Y2K is reminding me off those old 1950s era "Nature strikes back!"
Black and white movies...
