There was an excellent service that rated Web sites (Sitegrade)
and gave a rating of A+ down through an F.  They used a 10 point
system for evaluating sites, and gave you up to 10 points for
each catrgory plus a bonus category.  Hence you got grades just
like in school.    

You submitted your site, and they reviewed it.  They published
the results at their site, and the information was available for
your use.  And yes, they did issue some "F"'s.

Unfortunately they could not get enough volunteers and had to
close down the service.   We got an A+ and were proud of it.  The
criteria they used can be found at our site at:
