Be careful of most translation services--esp. those based outside the
country where the language is used. Local indiosyncracies will kill
you.
DON'T use an on-line translator. Fine to translate that letter your
spanish-speaking friend forgot to type in English for you, or to get a
product overview from a web page. Bad, bad idea for official corporate
materials.
Try calling an embassy ;) They have heavy demand for translators
themselves, and often maintain lists of freelancers. I used to be able
to get people on short notice to do mock trial translations (on-the-fly
live translations) for a few hundred bucks for an afternoon. Granted,
this is in DC, where everyone speaks a few languages . . . but it should
also be the case in a few other major cities around the world. ;)
You'll probably get native speakers as well. Once they do the heavy
work, you can pay the "marketing" translators to proof and edit it at a
much lower rate . . .
