Hi Suz

I took IE4 of my Mac but I can see what you mean in IE3.

There is an option in Preferences | Web Browser | Web Content | Page Content

and you can show pictures either FASTER or BETTER. The "better" option
makes then dither in 256 while the "faster" does not.
