" The President is a public figure. It is part of his job to be on duty
the moment he opens his eyes. There is no privacy because he is living in
govermnent housing paid for by each of us.

The real issue is not the sex, it is that he lied to all of us, both
in public, and under oath. Most people seem to forget that, and treat it
as theatre. It isn't. - Javilk"

Hrm... but where does the line get drawn? Are -all- public figures in
office to have no such privacy and scrutiny?

I don't like the fact that he had an affair... I believe that that was
wrong, along with lying under oath... but I keep on seeing every single act
scrutinized, seeing him slammed in the press horrediously... the punishment
seems to be much worse than the "crime".

I just try to think back when other presidents had trouble... when Reagan
lied and said he had no knowledge of the Iran Contra proceedings...

Hrm...
