Hmm... now, I'd have thought that most women would define "excess" 
testosterone levels as those that caused them to act like Tim Taylor on 
"Home Improvement", rather than like rational, mature human beings.  
Which does appear to be the inevitable outcome of possessing large 
amounts of that pesky hormone <g>

Actually, I do tend to subscribe to the evolutionary-biological thesis on 
this subject, to the effect that aggression favours males of various 
species who have to compete against one another for the opportunity to 
reproduce (and so perpetuate their genetic lineage.)  Thus the male who 
beats his chest loudest is more likely to successfully mate with one of the 
few available females in estrus at the time.  Thereafter (in many species), 
aggressive behaviour is further reinforced by the need for the male to 
deter predators and find food while the female is bearing and nursing his 
defenceless offspring.  

So goes the theory anyway, and it does make an amount of sense.
