Have you thought about installing qmail with ezmlm (Eazy Mailing
List Manager) ? The support for the mailing list is integrated to
the mailer daemon. It has support for non/moderated sub/unsub to
the lists. It has moderated postings for the list and more.

Thanks Bruce, Kathy, Brent and others for the pointer.
Unfortunately, first thing I saw on their page was that the Linux
version isn't ready, and there's no firm commit date. We're committed
to Linux on this mail server . . . have learned my lessons about putting
mission critical mail applications on NT.
Since it's got to be running by January 1, Majordomo it is . . .
