I used Superior Bankcard services of Jacksonville. They had a merchant account for me within a week. You may already know this, but if not, your client must obtain a merchant account before credit card processing is possible. If he/she already has a retail business, check to see if their existing merchant account can be adapted for use on the Internet. Superior ( http://www.cyberauthorize.com/ )gives you several (four) options for processing credit cards once the merchant account has been approved, even telephone processing for home based businesses. Their services will not break the bank. Online processing is available via Authorize-Net (the option I hose).( http://www.authorize-it.com ). Americart generates the sales forms and issues receipts which are compatible with Authorize.net's server. http://www.americart.com ) . Both use secure servers and notify you of approved transactions. Their customer support is e-mail based, but they respond promptly. If you call Superior, (1-(800) 216-4886) ask for Kathy Bracken. She is excellent.
