Suz, I take it you are going to be renting a house/cabin as opposed to
camping out in a tent in the mountains  ;-)

Since you are talking about a transcontinental journey here, if you fly are
you considering checking an iMac as baggage? I don't think I would do that.

So maybe you are going to drive, in which case taking the iMac would be
easy. And if so, I would have to say that the iMac would be more
cost-effective, right?

I just got back from a week in Hawaii with no computer in sight. Frankly,
it was a nice change <G>. All I did was scuba and lie around and read books
while listening to the waves...

But I can understand that if you are talking about multiple weeks or months
away, having a computer would help you earn money so you could spend longer
away! The trick will be forcing yourself not to check your email every day
and working every day: if you do that, you might as well stay home.
